The first season has eight episodes in total, the same as the second season. The Wheel of Time, a fantasy TV show based on the novel series of the same name by Robert Jordan, premiered Nov. A recast of one of the three main characters is huge. I've considered that a huge problem the whole time. Such little promotional content over this long of a time is just not great. The first three episodes of the upcoming series, which is based on Robert Jordan's much-loved fantasy novels, will arrive on Amazon Prime Video on November 19, with a new episode dropping every Friday from thereon in, leading right the way up to the season finale on December 24. The Wheel of Time is an American high fantasy television series developed by Rafe Judkins for Amazon Prime Video. The series is based on the novel series of the same name by Robert Jordan with Brandon Sanderson. This could be strategic by the showrunners, wanting a proper organic support for the show and not to overhype expectations, but it's a red flag to me already. Both seasons, co-produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television, will be available to stream in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The early season renewal coincided with the first season wrapping production. He'll be joined by Egwene Al'Vere (Madeleine Madden), Perrin Aybara (Marcus Rutherford), Nynaeve (Zoë Robins), and Rand Al'Thor (Josha Stradowski).Īlthough the first season hasn't premiered yet, Amazon ordered a second season of The Wheel of Time earlier this year. The reasons for Barney’s departure have not. Actor Barney Harris played the role in six episodes of the first season before departing, and actor Dnal Finn has been hired to replace him for the second season. Cauthon is one of five young heroes who will be travelling with Rosamund Pike's Moiraine on a "dangerous, world-spanning journey" in season one, which is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video this November. As discussed previously, it’s been known for some time that the role of Mat Cauthon had been recast for the Wheel of Time TV show. 12/10/2023 0 Comments 8 oz mason jarsAll Bella Lusso glass mason jars are microwave and dishwasher safe, allowing you to heat food and wash the glasses safely. 12/10/2023 0 Comments Nan jing pdfLiu Xin supposedly based his work on an older catalog with the title Bie Lu ?, compiled by his father Liu Xiang ? (Died 6 BCE). A bibliography by Liu Xin? (Died 23 CE) from the early years of the 1st century mentions a text titled Zhen Jing ?, “The Needle Classic,” consisting of nine chapters. Many questions surrounding the origins of the Ling Shu remain unanswered to this day. The authors of these texts are unknown, as is the individual who, at some point in that time, collected the individual texts into one great work. Much of the version known today probably dates back to individual, shorter texts that began to be written between the 2nd and 1st centuries BCE during the two Han dynasties of Ancient China. The Ling shu ?, also known as Ling shu jing ?, is the classic text on acupuncture. For example, why he has decided not to allocate an English equivalent to the term and concept, to which is Qi.įollowing below is the introduction section of “The complete Chinese Text with an Annotated English translation Huang Di Nei Jing Ling Shu the Ancient classic on Needle Therapy”, as it appears originally in the book and without any editorial changes. As well, I hope that in the future we will be able to clarify with him some other “difficult issues”. I would like to thank Unschuld for his generous permission to reprint the introduction section of the book. Its user friendly design allows for a fluid read and easy comparisons between Chinese characters, the English translations and the commentators. In June 2016 at the time of the appearance of his second edition of the Nan Jing (see above), Unschuld has published the “The complete Chinese Text with an annotated English translation: Huang Di Nei Jing Ling Shu the Ancient classic on Needle Therapy” (the second volume of the Huang Di Nei Jing). In 2011 he published together with Hermann Tessenow the English translation of the “Huang Di Nei Jing Su Wen Huang Di’s inner classic basic questions”. In 1986 Unschuld’s published his first translation of the “Nan Jing: The Classic of Difficult Issues”, which he has updated and published its second edition in June 2016. Over the past decades he has written extensively about Chinese medicine, and thanks to his efforts all three classical Chinese medical texts are now available at a scholarly level in English translations. Professor Unschuld is the founding director of the Horst-Goertz-Institute for the theory, history and Ethics of Chinese Life Sciences at Charité-Universitaetsmedizin Berlin in 2006. Initially approached for a commentary about his new translation, professor Unschuld replied that perhaps the best ‘commentary’ would be the publication in the Journal of Alternative, Complementary & Integrative Medicine of the introduction section of the book. We now have a new English translation of the Huang Di Nei Jing Ling Shu from the esteemed scholar Paul Unschuld. This article includes the introduction section from the book “Huang Di Nei Jing Ling Shu the Ancient classic on Needle Therapy the complete Chinese Text with an Annotated English Translation” by Paul U Unschuld and with a preface by Boaz ItsHaky. 12/10/2023 0 Comments Stack sports in denverand less paying to "sit on the bench".Ĥ) We offer a wide range of skill levels to ensure everyone a great time. Phase I of PECS® includes teaching the individual how to initiate communication. PECS® is reserved for the Picture Exchange Communication System only, which includes systematic teaching procedures, a phase-based instructional model, and a joint focus on communication and social skills. The term PECS® should not be used for any picture-based communication system that does not use the procedures and phases of PECS®. It is important to note that PECS® is a distinct and comprehensive communication system. The protocol to implement PECS® has been manualized and was updated in 2002 (Frost & Bondy, 2002). The PECS® phases focus on crucial component skills of effective communication, and include teaching the individual how to communicate, how to engage in communication from a distance and with persistence, how to develop picture discrimination skills, how to engage in appropriate sentence structure, how to use attributes and other mechanisms to expand language abilities, and how to engage in requesting and commenting (Bondy & Frost, n.d.). PECS® is also based on Skinner’s conceptualization of Verbal Behavior (Bondy & Frost, n.d.), and (as noted above) is aligned with Skinner’s view that the function of communication is the most important feature of it. In other words, what the person is communicating (e.g., a request, a comment) is more important than the modality (e.g., vocal communication, sign language, picture exchange) of their communication. For example, a child selects a picture of a cracker and hands it to the communication partner who then gives the child a cracker. Using individual pictures of items stored in a PECS® Communication Book or on an Activity Board, a child is taught to engage in functional communication by exchanging a picture or a sequence of pictures with their communication partner to receive the intended outcome. Additionally, the protocol utilizes distinct prompting and reinforcement techniques throughout the six phases of the protocol in combination with systematic error correction procedures. It embeds a systematic progression of independence and persistence strategies. PECS® is based on Applied Behavior Analysis (Bondy & Frost, n.d.), and is built on the Verbal Behavior classification system originally proposed by Skinner. Given the high percentage of non-vocal or minimally vocally communicative individuals with autism, the existence of an effective alternative approach is essential. The Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS®) is a type of alternative augmentative communication system that was originally developed in 1985 by Andy Bondy, Ph.D., and Lori Frost, MS, CCC-SLP for use with preschool students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and has since been expanded across ages and disabilities (Battaglia & McDonald, 2015 Hughes-Lika & Chiesa, 2021). The procedure was originally used, and continues to be implemented, with learners who have a limited vocal repertoire for communication. 12/9/2023 0 Comments Backyard discovery swing setsCheck out our guide on how to install a playset for more tips. This is a hugely important step in purchasing a playset - it literally takes the idea into action, requires some real work, and it is essentially what’s needed to have a safe play item in the backyard. If you’ve decided that you like the Canyon Creek, next thing you should know is how long you should expect the installation to take. The slide is a pretty basic, lightweight, thermoformed slide and should be easy to get down. We almost always recommend having a few spare hands to get the job done. They are also every bit the length of the 8’ pallet, so it’s still a cumbersome package. Box Weight and DimensionsĪt 154 lbs and 198 lbs, the two boxes aren’t light by any means, so we recommend having a buddy help with the unloading process. Please take pictures as well! If something comes damaged, it’ll be critical to show proof of that delivery damage and greatly speed along the replacement process, which could cost you something if you don’t take care to note the issues. That said, do inspect the boxes carefully for damage and list everything out on the delivery ticket. This is where the Canyon Creek shines - with only two boxes and a slide, you’ll find this pretty easy. Unless you paid extra for a liftgate service (which we don’t recommend), you’ll want to grab the 2 boxes and slide off of the truck before even attempting to do anything with the pallet. Again, that is pretty typical in the industry. Just a fair warning, so be prepared for it. Your shipment will arrive on an 8’ pallet, which means you’ll have to dispose of a pretty large pallet. This is the con of freight shipping, the pro being that it is the most cost efficient way to ship large items throughout the US. The transportation company will be in touch with you to do so, but they can be finicky with their timing and don’t always make the window when they schedule delivery. The Canyon Creek ships via LTL freight, so you’ll need to be available for a delivery appointment. Thermoformed slides are generally bulkier and harder to box with the rest of the set, so you may find scratches on it. We are happy with the simplicity of having only 2 boxes, which makes it easier to identify potential damage more quickly. Overall, this is a pretty easy shipment to receive. Our Canyon Creek verdict: The Canyon Creek comes in 2 boxes with the slide shipping in a separate package. It’s not necessarily the easiest item to receive, but some are better than others. That article will help you anticipate everything you’re getting into with a swing set shipment. Some pilot-hole drilling may be required.Definitely check out our writeup on what to expect for a playset delivery. Remove the leaves below the node, then submerge the stem of the cutting in distilled water. Seeds need to be planted about 1/4 inch deep in moist but well-drained soil. Cut a stem section 4 inches in length with sterile scissors or snips just below the leaf node. The seeds can be germinated on a windowsill. They can be planted outdoors as soon as the soil has been properly prepared. The germination process can take up to 14 to 28 days.
